Why I Started
Balance Within
I have always believed that feeling truly heard is one of the most healing things a person can experience.
Long before I became a therapist, I was the person people came to when they needed to talk. I was a good listener, or so I was told, and I noticed how much lighter people felt after simply being able to speak freely and feel understood.
That experience stayed with me. It drew me to psychology, and eventually to this work as a Counselling Psychologist. Along the way, training both in theory and in real life with clients deepened my understanding of how mental health care is often delivered.
Too often, therapy felt clinical, distant, or one size fits all. People would show up carrying something deeply personal, and leave feeling like they had been handed a formula. I knew there had to be a different way.
